YOUR TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS

Buses Casablanca

One of the most budget-friendly ways to reach Casablanca is by taking a local bus from the Valparaíso bus terminal.

Buses Casablanca operates services approximately every 30 minutes, taking you directly to Casablanca's main square.

It's an inexpensive way to get into town, but remember that most wineries are located outside the town center. Once you arrive, you'll need to arrange additional transportation to reach them.

Shared Cabs - Colectivos

In Chile, colectivos are shared taxis that operate along fixed routes. Those heading to Casablanca depart from Avenida Argentina in Valparaíso and take approximately 40 minutes to reach the town.

The fare is around US$3 per person, but here's something useful to know: you can pay for additional seats.

If you'd prefer the entire vehicle to yourself, simply pay for all four seats (approximately US$12). You can also pay for the three back seats (around US$9) if you'd like some extra room.

This is common practice in Chile. If a colectivo already has passengers, you can approach the next available driver and ask to pay for the entire vehicle.

Important: Colectivos follow a fixed route between Avenida Argentina and Casablanca town. Even if you pay for all four seats, they will not take you directly to individual wineries.

Ubers

Yes, Uber operates in Casablanca, but there aren't many drivers available, so getting a ride isn't always as straightforward as it is in a larger city.

If you're planning to visit wineries using Uber, we recommend organizing your transportation ahead of time whenever possible.

One option is to ask your driver if they're willing to share their phone number so you can contact them later through WhatsApp, which is widely used in Chile. Alternatively, you can try scheduling rides in advance through the Uber app, where that option is available.

Estimated Uber Prices:

Casablanca town to a winery: Approximately US$5–20, depending on the distance.

Between wineries: Approximately US$15–30, depending on how far apart they are.

For example, traveling between wineries such as Emiliana and Casas del Bosque requires arranging another ride, and the fare will depend on distance and driver availability.

Our advice: Don't assume you'll always find an available Uber immediately after finishing a winery visit. Casablanca is a rural wine region with limited transportation options, so planning your next pickup in advance is a good idea.
